Established and operated in Camp Hill Brisbane in 2007 as the Melinda J Wells Music Studio, I began teaching guitar to local school children using a easy program I created from my own learning. I taught more than 50 children each week and included singing, songwriting, collaboration and performance.
I also travelled to Dalby to facilitate a series of workshops called RockOn, focusing on songwriting and performance
One of our student performances was on the Kurlipa Bridge, Southbank, during the Brisbane Festival 2009
In 2011, the studio moved with me to Dalby where I continued teaching in town and further out west when contracted to run music workshop tours to regional Queensland.
In 2018, upon moving to the Sunshine Coast, I renamed my teaching practice Kookaburra Studios and once again began teaching guitar, ukulele, keys, singing, songwriting and stagecraft.
